STMA Vendor Spotlight

1.     Give us your background, experiences and what you are doing now.

I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana.  My family moved to St. Louis when I was a sophomore in high school.  I took a summer job at Creve Coeur Golf Course after high school and caught the bug.  I received my Bachelor’s in Turf Management from LSU.  After graduating, I worked as a Research Specialist at the LSU Turf Research Facility for three years.  I proceeded to take jobs at PGA West in California, Stallion Mountain Country Club in Las Vegas and finally back to Baton Rouge at Sherwood Forest Country Club.  After moving back to St. Louis in 2007, I started a landscape company.  I really missed being around the turf industry, so I was fortunate enough to come upon my current position with Redexim Turf Products.  We are the first factory store for Redexim Charterhouse, Inc. (Verti-Drain).  I cover eastern Missouri, central and southern Illinois managing our existing accounts and selling products to the turf industry.

2.     Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my three sons and wife.  Other hobbies would be playing guitar, going to the lake and golf.

3.     If you were not in this industry, what else would you be doing?

I have no idea.  Help Les Miles with clock management.

4.     Where did you go to high school?

Oakville Senior High School (1990)

5.     What is your favorite product that you carry or have carried?

Verti-Quake wave aerator.  I could have really used this machine in compacted fairways as a Golf Course Superintendent at a couple of places.

6.     Best advice you ever received?

Treat the people you work with like people.

7.     What is your favorite movie?

I know this is cliché but I can never get enough Caddyshack.

8.     What is your favorite place to eat?

The Chimes (at the north gates of LSU)

9.     Favorite sports teams?

LSU anything, New Orleans Saints, Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey

10.     Biggest changes in the industry since you started?

Expectations.
